Recognizing and identifying letters of the alphabet is such an important skill!  It opens the door for kiddos to make connections between the letters and the sounds they make.  To help all the littles {yours and mine!} practice their ABCs, I created a set of fun letter sorts!

Each sheet focuses on one letter of the alphabet, and asks students to identify and sort uppercase and lowercase letters.  The letters are written in various font types, allowing students to recognize letters and words written in fancy fonts {like in a lot of our TpT resources}!

Here is an example I started on my daughter’s play mat… appropriately the letter “M” on top of a picture of a monkey 🙂  First, littles will cut and sort the letters.  You can even have them color the upper and lowercase letters in different colors before cutting, to help with the sorting {not shown}:

Once the letters are correctly sorted and glued, kiddos will work on letter formation by tracing and writing the upper and lowercase letters.  Last, they can color!  There’s a little checklist at the top of each printable so students know what to do next.  Here is a completed copy:
