As teachers, it’s so very rewarding to watch our little ones turn into READERS! I teach first grade, and I often find that my students are all over the place: some come into my classroom reading above level, while others come in well below. It’s great to witness their growth throughout the year as everyone becomes successful readers!!
One component to learning how to read is sight word practice… and lots of it! That’s why I’m creating a series of sight word practice pages for my little ones. Each page will focus on ONE sight word. Take a look:
Kiddos will trace, write, color, stamp, circle, and read & copy a sentence using the sight word. The sentences include picture support and have touch dots underneath each word to support tracking!
The examples above are from the Pre-Primer pack. There are 40 words:
a – and – away – big – blue – can – come – down – find – for – funny – go – help – here – I – in – is – it – jump – little – look – make – me – my – not – one – play – red – run – said – see – the – three – to – two – up – we – where – yellow – you

This choice board for fast finishers is one of my faaavorite classroom management tools! At the beginning of each month, set aside a little time to go over all the tasks— that’s really all you need!! The activities are the same throughout the year, it’s the themes that change. For example, a drawing activity in February might be to design a card for someone and in September the drawing activity is a self portrait. Your kiddos will LOVE all of the options and you will love keeping your quick workers busy! Link in profile or bit.ly/CupcakeFast if you want to check it out!! ... See MoreSee Less
