Birthdays, Supplies, and Labels!
I am beyond excited, because I just hit 2000+ followers!!!
I’m planning something… I’m not sure what yet, but it’s coming! 😉
While it’s been fun creating cute Pinterest finds for my classroom this summer…
{I still need to finish. This is only six balloons… because I was going to use Pixi Stix then had a change of heart. So now I have 36 large Pixi Stix sitting in my house and I need to go out and find more Krazy Straws! That’s what I get for being indecisive!! Many thanks to Reagan for the balloon template!}
…it’s hit me now that I should start focusing on organizing and preparing other things that I NEED, like supplies, lessons and routines. I am going to be heading into my classroom on Monday {FINALLY} so reality is sinking in!
For starters, I went online to Really Good Stuff and bought these fabulous book bins:
Seriously, look at those colors! Drool!! I plan on using them as individual book boxes for my students. I ordered 24… here’s to hoping I only have 24 kids lol!
I also went to Staples and bought some necessities, like these slider pencil cases that I give my kiddos for their crayons:
Thanks, Staples, for changing your teacher-back-to-school policy. I had to pay full price, grr!
Then I sat down and made new labels for my students’ supplies:
I use these labels for their journals, spelling homework books, etc. In the past I’ve made them to fit Avery labels, but I {one} didn’t feel like buying them and {two} already have sticker paper. I’m going to print them on the sticker paper and cut them apart with my handy Martha Stewart paper cutter. 😉 Then I’ll peel the labels and pop ’em on my kiddo’s notebooks and such.
I made the labels a freebie on Google Docs. I’m hoping that at least one or two of you out there will find them helpful! Things like these vary a lot from teacher to teacher, depending on what you call a certain supply {is it a class work notebook or is it a writing notebook??}, etc.
As you’re reading this, I am hopefully working on organizing all of my phonics worksheets! That is, IF I can find them among this mess in my basement:
This is the overflow of my stuff that wouldn’t fit in my teeny classroom last year. I’m embarrassed to say this picture doesn’t cover half of it!! Yep, hubs can’t wait for me to go back to school, hehe. See you soon!! 🙂
